Global Partnerships of the
NC Conference
The North Carolina Conference of the Global Methodist Church is called to be more than a local expression of faith. We are called to the world. Through our Global Partnerships program, the NCGMC is walking alongside our African sisters and brothers in Uganda and the Kasai Region of the West Congo GMC, fulfilling the shared vision to “Make Disciples of Jesus Christ and Spread Scriptural Holiness Across the Globe.”
What We Are Doing Together
The North Carolina GMC is in missional partnership with the Uganda GMC and West Congo GMC. In these partnerships we are walking alongside of our African sisters and brothers in areas such as:
Clergy Training
Equipping pastors and lay leaders is foundational to the growth of the Church. Through events like the week-long “School of Methodism,” we support the efforts of our partners to strengthen theological education and Methodist identity among local church leaders. Pastors and laity from across the region gather to be trained and sent out with greater confidence and clarity.
Church Planting & Evangelism
Church planting and evangelism are vibrant in both Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Although many of these churches meet in makeshift shelters, they are passionate about spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Your support helps provide the resources and encouragement our partners need to expand their efforts to plant healthy churches throughout their conferences.
Econonomic Empowerment
We believe that holistic mission includes the whole person. Through economic empowerment initiatives, our partnerships support the dignity and flourishing of local communities alongside their spiritual growth.
Children & Youth Ministry
Investing in the next generation is investing in the future of the Church. In many churches children and youth make up over half of the worshipping congregation. We support our African leaders in their children and youth ministry initiatives that create safe spaces for young people to encounter God and grow in their faith.
Bible Distribution
The Word of God is the heartbeat of this mission. To date, over 13,000 Bibles have been provided by the NCGMC to believers in Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. These Bibles are not just books. They are lifelines to communities where access to Scripture has been limited.
