Course Description:This course explores Wesley’s rules for leaders and integrates his leadership principles alongside the polity and discipline of The Global Methodist Church. Students will learn the basis of Global Methodist governance through Scripture, Wesleyan theology, and the writings of John Wesley. Students learn why Methodism is connectional rather than congregational, how Wesley’s leadership structures are implemented in the Global Methodist Church, and how Certified Lay Ministers participate in the Church’s shared mission. This course serves as training for those serving on Church Council, Nominations, SPRC, Trustees, or Finance.
