Easter is not just a day we celebrate—it is a reality we live. Across the North Carolina Global Methodist Conference, we have proclaimed once again the good news: Christ is risen! And because Jesus lives, everything has changed.
Easter reminds us that death does not have the final word. Sin does not have the final word. Brokenness, suffering, and despair do not have the final word. Jesus does. And that truth shapes not only what we believe—but how we live as disciples of Jesus Christ.
The resurrection of Jesus is not simply a past event—it is a present power. Because Jesus is alive, we have hope in the midst of hardship, peace in the midst of uncertainty, and purpose in the midst of everyday life. We are not a people who gather around a memory—we are a people who follow a living Savior. And that means our faith is not passive. It is active. It moves us. It compels us. It sends us.
As Global Methodists, we are committed to making disciples of Jesus Christ—and the resurrection is at the very heart of that mission.
Because He lives:
- We go to those who are hurting and offer compassion.
- We step into places of suffering and bring relief.
- We speak words of hope to those who feel forgotten.
- We share the good news that lives can be transformed through Jesus.
The same power that raised Christ from the dead is at work in and through His Church today. That means every act of kindness, every moment of service, every word of witness matters.
Easter calls us beyond the walls of our churches. It reminds us that our communities are filled with people who are searching for meaning, for hope, for something that will last. And we have been entrusted with that message. Not just in what we say, but in how we live:
- In our generosity
- In our compassion
- In our willingness to serve
- In our boldness to share Christ
As disciples, we carry resurrection hope into everyday places—homes, workplaces, schools, and neighborhoods.
As we continue through this year, may we not leave Easter behind—but carry it with us.
May the hope of the empty tomb strengthen our faith, renew our commitment, deepen our love for others, and inspire us to reach the world for Jesus Christ.
Together, as a conference, we are part of something far bigger than ourselves. We are a people shaped by the resurrection…a people sent with hope…a people called to see lives transformed through Jesus Christ.
Christ is risen. He is risen indeed. And because He lives—we go.
