Scripture: “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 8:38-39
Paul writes this from prison. Let that sink in. He’s imprisoned for his faith, facing possible execution, separated from the people he loves, and unable to do the ministry he was called to do. And yet he writes: nothing can separate us from the love of God.
Look at the list he gives—death and life, angels and demons, the present and the future, powers, height and depth, anything else in all creation. Paul is covering every angle. Every threat. Every circumstance. Every spiritual force. And his conclusion is clear: none of it—none of it—can separate you from God’s love.
Death can’t. Life can’t. Your present circumstances can’t. Your uncertain future can’t. Spiritual forces working against you can’t. Your past can’t. Your mistakes can’t. Your doubts can’t. Nothing can.
A friend of mine struggled with addiction for years. In his lowest moments—the ones he still struggles to name—he was convinced he’d finally crossed the line. Surely this was too much. Surely God’s love had limits, and he had found them.
But Romans 8:38–39 kept returning to him. Nothing. Not his worst moments. Not his deepest shame. Not his most visible failures. Nothing could separate him from God’s love.
That truth is what finally broke through. Not shame. Not fear. Not trying harder. But the unshakable reality that God’s love was still there—still holding him—even at his worst.
The world says love has conditions. God says there is no “out.” Nothing—nothing—can separate you from His love.
The Trust Triangle:
BELIEVE: There is nothing in all creation that can separate me from God’s love. No circumstance, no failure, no spiritual force, nothing.
RECEIVE: Even in my worst moment, even in my deepest shame or failure, God’s love for me has not wavered or withdrawn. I am not separated.
RESPOND: Today, what am I afraid has separated me from God’s love? How can I receive the truth that nothing—not even that—can separate me?

Prayer: “God, I am convinced that nothing can separate me from Your love in Christ Jesus. Not [specific fear, failure, or circumstance]. Not death, not life, not anything. Thank You that Your love isn’t conditional on my perfection. Today, I receive the truth that I am held by a love I cannot lose, no matter what. Help me live in the freedom of that.”
